To create momentum and elevation on the bar we need a powerful hip drive. This powerful hip drive needs to be strong enough to get the barbell to leave the shoulders. Once the bar is moving off the shoulders we can either continue to press the bar overhead, push press, or we can escape under the bar and jerk the weight.

Single arm dumbbell Muscle snatch, 30 seconds
