CFSC will be closed this weekend (Saturday Oct. 20th and Sunday Oct. 21st) for the Crossfit Kettlebell Certification. Check out Santa Cruz's new Crossfit affiliate, Crossfit North Santa Cruz, who will be hosting two FREE workouts on Saturday at 8 and 9:30am.

Another thing to check out this weekend is the U.S. Open Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournament at the Santa Cruz Civic. Many of our friends from ClaudioFranca's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Studio will be there.

According to Patrick Pulpan only 11% of the population can stand with their back against a wall and bend down to touch their toes. Two of these three ladies were able to do it without first touching the ground beyond their feet and then walking their hands back to their toes. Post to comments if you can do it. Heels must stay on the floor, touching the wall behind you, and you must immediately touch your toes (not have to walk your hands back) to be considered among the 11% who CAN.

While going for her one rep max weighted pull up, Eva T. couldn't figure out how to protect her ankles from getting the skin rubbed off by the dumbbells. She found the best method to be dropping her shorts around her ankles. In this photo, she wowed us with her method, and with the weight she pulled--75#! Eva, you are inspiring in so many ways.
