Developing a strong grip is important for a lot of people including rock climbers, carpenters, and the CrossFit athlete. In our workouts we use many of different grips.  Some examples are Overhand, mixed, underhand, and the hook. The rope climb is unique in that you use one hand at a time. An important thing to think about is changing your grip often as you will develop capacity only in the ways you practice.
