The Wedding

Dietrich with a tight lumbar spine.

While not perfect, Dietrich's deadlift is pretty good. The most important part of a good deadlift is making sure your low back is not compromised. The pelvis and low back must be wedded together to prevent injury and a loss of force transfer. Keeping the upper back and neck in line will lead to better force production and in turn better lifts. Dietrich is also maintaining his weight on his heels, has the bar underneath his shoulder, and has relatively vertical shins. All good things in a solid deadlift.
