Bond....James Bond
Every now and again the energy is right, the crew of athletes is right, the work out is right, everything comes together to produce a total "slaughtering". When everyone in the room has suffered to the point of not caring about the usual day to day 'mind chatter.' No one is thinking about work, no one is concerned about their remaining blocks for the day, no one cares that they are sweaty and stinky, maybe bleeding, no one cares if anyone else is looking at them. These are the times when a camaraderie is born in the shared suffering that seems to transcend our understanding.

I would have to say that Sundays workout met the criteria for being a slaughter. The workout was great, the group was great, and the vibe in the gym was just right. My thanks goes to everyone who was there on Sunday who I got to share the workout with. I had an absolute blast. Also a thanks to Hollis who puts the laughter in slaughter :), thanks for running us through it!

OMG... I had actually sent an email to Patrick asking him to yell at me if he was going to be around because I wanted my butt kicked so bad! Thanks, Hollis. I got my butt kicked anyway and nobody even had to yell! I really needed this one to drowned out some 'feel-sorry-for-me" crap that I was going through. Thank God Patrick didn't get my email on time. What was I thinking? I would probably cry if someone yelled at me. This was a much better approach. Hahaha...

The workout was the one listed above named "The Chief". It was also the workout listed on the main site for that day. Boy was it a doozy.

I feel like someone took a tire iron to my whole upper body.

And somehow I think I ended up the lucky one Sunday "getting out" of doing this. It was brutal even watching, but everyone held on to the sweaty end! WTG Sunday Crew.

That workout was a blast! I love timed efforts that really push you to your limits to finish each round and do better or at least match your previous effort. It was a struggle, as that picture definitely captured :) I think Hollis let the workout and our screams of exertion drive us through it, but I did hear my name called on occasion waking me up when I deviated from form...
Gloria, the thought of Hollis taking it easy on us made me giggle. Even when not outright yelling, his comments always sound like a whip cracking at my back. :)
Perhaps Hollis let out all of his aggression on Saturday. Lucky you weren't there, Gloria, or you would have cried :) I only caught the tail end of the workout, but the static holds with painful groaning and then the bottom-to-bottoms that followed after some complaining replete with the barking, drill sergeant Hollis made a scary scene. I was glad to watch that one from the sidelines ;)
