B is for Strong
Workout:
25 Deadlifts; body weight
50 Knees to Elbows
95 pound Squat Clean, 25 reps
50 GHD Sit Ups
65 pound Squat Snatch, 25 reps
The ability to clean an object, including a barbell,
is limited by the amount an athlete can squat. Training
with heavy front squats gives us the confidence
that we can sit underneath the heavy weight without
being crushed. When cleaning, if we're not afraid of the
weight, we're more likely to move quickly and smoothly
to pull ourselves down into the squat to catch the barbell
and stand it up.
Tony can clean 235 pounds and as the photo
above shows, he can squat 295 pounds.

btw... when is the last day of the zone competition? I want to try to be there for that. Don't know all of the criteria for determining the winner but I'm rooting for Kristy and/or Scott!

After experimenting with staying strict for over 6 weeks (minus one "reward" dinner) I am happy with the results and plan to keep living this way, with some cheats now and then, though. Perhaps there is something to prescribed once a week cheating. It may even improve performance. I will have to try it out. The weight loss is slow now at about 1lb a week, but the muscle and energy gains are excellent. I like where the Zone has put me and plan to stay there. I also like eating such amazingly fresh food and being conscious about what I am eating. It makes me appreciate and enjoy it more.
As for the best performance on the Zone, that has to be Danielle. She is a monster at the gym and has taken herself to new levels in the past 6 weeks. Danielle, we are all so proud of you!
I am proud of everyone, too! Our gym members have never looked so good as in the past 6 weeks! It took dedication and extreme willpower, so pat yourself on the back if you made it this far on the Zone (even with some cheats)! Hope you all continue!

oooh, I've been missing watching Danielle's workouts. Killer, are they? I'm not surprised.
Hollis: I had a rare Tuesday off and showed up at noon today but were you there? NOOOOO! Off playin' in the water again. Not to worry (but I know that you didn't). Patrick led a really fun take-your-breath-away class.

Today at Steve's Club the workout was sled drags and burpees. The sled drags were kinda fun. It's just the weight was heavy. I'm 13 and I run a 5.5 in the 40 yard dash. Coach Steve timed us before we worked out at the park. It was really hot too.

Pooh,
It sounds like coach loves the burpees. I bet you're getting good at them. 5.5 is an amazing time, especially for your age!

Pooh: UGH!! Burpees! But sled drags are fun! We did one like that a few weeks ago at CrossFit Central. Loved it! Boy, you sure can run fast. You should see me run; pretty slow.
