In the Zone

"It doesn't have to be fun, to be fun."
Putting in the effort to train hard and push your body,
rewards you with more strength, better wind, and
increased flexibility, to name a few. Training hard is great,
but eating well is mandatory. So many of us train hard
without proper dedication to our food. The combination
of CrossFit and the Zone is our best bet for optimal health
and fitness.
Have you ever thought about trying the Zone?
Here is an opportunity.
This Saturday we are putting on a Zone Challange/Workshop.
We will be having a BEACH workout with Zone Food and
Information to follow.
Stayed Tuned for more information.
Workout:
20 rounds for time of:
5 Pull Up
5 Push Up
15 Squats

yee-haw! =)

Boy, you ain't kiddin'. I've been stuck around 150# for the entire year that I've been Crossfitting and I know that losing just 10 pounds would make such a huge difference in my pull up and running performance and in the way that I look. Eating right on a consistent basis takes a huge amount of discipline. I'd love to participate in some kind of 4 or 7 day Crossfit intensive where diet was the focus and we did hard workouts every other day and moderate to easy workouts on alternating days. I guess that I could conceivably do that on my own but I always did work better with a whip to my back. Scary, huh?
btw... naked guy in the tree? HOT!

A leif in the tree...imagine that!
Great idea about Gloria. I need the guidance to truly work the zone.

Well ladies the naked guy is spoken for, but as far as zone support goes...the next 6 weeks at crossfit santa cruz will be dedicated to just that. Starting monday the 19th - july 1 we will be helping eachoter weigh and measure....at the end of the 6 weeks the client with the best average results will get a free month of classes. There will be a zone talk tomorrow morning thursday at 6am and again on saturday after class. We will be checking in weekley putting up recipees and helping eachother all the way. Food is the hardest part but the most important. I would rather do fran every day than eat in the zone BUT I couldn't do fran unless I ate in the zone....fancy that. Maybe I will see you in the am or on saturday. May the best ZONNER win.

I looooooooove this idea. I am the poster child for zone failure, but thats only because ice cream exists. Now that my fran time is one minute slower (twice) then my PR, its time to make some changes. Wait... I've said that before... last Sunday actually, oh yeah, and the Sunday before that... and the Saturday before that... And the Monday before that, and here I am, still on the sugar train. I think I need a little support :), talking/bloggin about it, sharing recipes and food, etc.
I'm in!
What will the benchmark workout be????
