She Did It!

Sunday, April 27th was the date Heather picked months ago as the day by which she was going to get her first muscle-up. We all watched as she came so close to getting it time and time again. But, she could never fully lockout her arms. Last Sunday, at the San Diego CrossFit Certification, the very last part of the day was the muscle-up station. It wasn't bright and early after a few days of rest, but rather after two, full days of workouts and movement drills when Heather finally got her first muscle-up! These pictures don't show her locked out at the top, but, she was! Not only did I see it, but all seventy participants and trainers were there cheering her on! Great job Heather. Way to set a goal and accomplish it!

Way to go Heather!!

AWESOME HEATHER!!! Congrats!

YES!! Now I'm extra motivated to get three pull ups in a row by June 1st. Thanks for the inspiration!

Heather....VERY NICE!

YYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY! (Thats what I said in my head when I locked out my elbows). The muscle up has eluded me for so long I was starting to wonder if I would ever get there. I have a renewed faith in setting goals and working through all the failures to reach them.

Hollis gave me the secret training tip that moved me along much quicker. Ok, maybe its not that secret but based on the results, it was brilliant. I suppose a 5 pound (give or take a few) water weight loss after two days of hard work and crazy heat and 75 or so people watching me and yelling helped a little too :)

GLORIA - you got it girl. Anytime you finish a workout and have a little left over, get on the bar for a few pull up reps and some kip practice. You'll be there before you know it. And post when you get it so I can say YAY for you :)

Oh yeah, and one more thing... It was lots of fun to share that experience with Hannah, P.J. and Mallee. Mallee, I've said this before but I can't thank you enough for your encouragement and coaching through Fran and the "ohmygod-I'm- going-to-vomit -and/or- have-a-heart -attack" run/box jump/kettlebell workout. Through all the commotion, your cues were calm, consistent and right-on. I learned a lot about coaching from you in that short time :)

WOO-HOO!!!!!! way to be, heather! =D

Nice!! That was really cool...everybody stopped and cheered. What a great moment! Congrats!
