Improving Your Weakness

The overhead squat has been a constant challenge for Angel. But, she has continued to work hard at it and it has improved immensely since she first arrived at CrossFit Santa Cruz. Like we have mentioned before, the beauty of the overhead squat is that it highlights any faults you may have in the basic airsquat. Work on the fundamentals, especially those that are most difficult for you, and everything else will improve! Good job Angel!
Workout:
9 rounds of:
5 overhead squats (Men use 135 pounds, women use 85 pounds)
5 weighted pull-ups (Men use 35 pounds, women use 20 pounds)

ahh yes, there i am embracing the suck that is my squat. =) thank you (danielle, hollis, mallee...) for all the coaching and constant encouragement. i can see from those two pics that i need to narrow my stance and fight to stay upright without hyperextending my back (among many things). and keep working on my airsquat. my glutes and hams are starting to catch on...i hope. *smile* i just know that before crossfit terms like "lumbar curve" and "hip flexion" were not a regular part of my workout jargon. good stuff. again, thank you so much and i'll keep showing up and working hard as long as you'll have me. =) 3-2-1 GO!

It's amazing how much a picture of yourself can teach you! Keep up the good work!
